Born in Duisburg Germany in 1959, I started my artistc career at the age of 34. After a visit in New Mexico I decided to turn my life around, leave the office life behind and go back to school. I graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor Degree in Graphic Design. At the same time I went back to my easel which I had left untouched for almost 2 decades.

Before applying for jobs in advertising agencies in Hamburg, I traveled the US once again and met my husband Larry in Key West in 1997. We got married after 5 weeks of courtship and I moved into his houseboat...not a good place to paint!

In 1999 I made a commitment to myself and decided that I would not want to earn my living other than with a paint brush in my hand. So I started to paint t-shirts by hand and I made a series of etchings that are being sold at the Hemingway Home and Museum in Key West and some other places. You can check these items out at www.keywest-art.com.

With this (steady) income and the support of my husband behind me, I was able to go back to my easel. Since the year 2000 I am studying abstract painting with Roberta Marks, my work is displayed at Lucky Street Gallery in Key West and I was able to win two grants from the Anne McKee Arist Fund in 2005 and 2006.

Since 2001 we have a place in Tennessee where I have my studio. We are still going back and forth to Key West, but are planning to make Tennessee our home year around some day.

Update 2007
Some day is here...We moved permanent to Tennessee and I am able to work all year around. This is great and I am looking forward to work on a larger body of work.
